Windows 7 Installation Guides for Netbooks

windows7_logoUnlike Windows Vista, which could lead a sainted netbook user to sin, any netbook can run Windows 7 without problems. It’s actually ideal for a little guy. It doesn’t need a lot of resources, everything (or mostly everything) works in a snap, and right now (at least until next week) it’s free. If your netbook isn’t running on Windows 7, then maybe you should try it out. It’s a pretty spiffy upgrade for any Windows user (both Vista and XP), but can be pretty daunting when we’re talking about installation. You see, netbooks don’t have DVD drives and some SSDs make default installations next to impossible. However, if there’s a will, there truly is a way.

You will need:

  • a netbook with at least 1GB RAM and 8GB storage space
  • a USB drive (4GB or larger) or an external hard drive
  • a Windows XP/Vista PC or a Mac (so you can get your flashdrive/external HDD up and running)
  • a Windows 7 RC Image (Download here)
  • time to do the installation
