Why You Should Wait for October to Get Your Netbook
If you’re looking to get a netbook for yourself, might as well wait until October. Why? Main reason: Windows 7 will be released on October 22nd, and here are very valid reasons why you want to get your netbook after Windows 7 is released:
1. The Samsung N140 will have Windows 7 Starter Edition while the N510 will run Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, and both are slated for a November US release.
2. The Samsung Go will be re-released with 3G wireless and Windows 7 Starter Edition after October 22.
3. All of Asus’ netbooks will be released with Windows 7 by the November timeframe. Check out the leaked Asus roadmap and see for yourself.
4. Lenovo has also been making noises about Windows 7 machines so expect netbooks with the new OS from them.
So, I’d hold on for a bit and get myself a Windows 7 netbook in a few months rather than pay for an upgrade with a Windows XP or Windows Vista netbook you’d be getting now. Besides, how far away is October 22nd?
