Vivienne Tam Edition HP Netbook Sale
Have you always wanted the HP Mini 10″ 1140NR Vivienne Tam Edition? The price holding you back?
Well, HP must have got the memo (that netbooks are supposed to be less expensive) and they’ve cut the price. Its at Amazon.com for $530 (down from $699).
In Canada, you can get it at a sale price of $569 CAD at Amazon.ca, and $549 at Best Buy – they’ve both lowered their prices for the pretty, fashionable Vivienne Tam netbook.

Let’s review the tech specs:
Less than 3 lbs and a mere 1″ thin. Operating system: Windows XP Home Near-full-size keyboard (92% of full size). Display: 10.1″ diagonal BrightView Infinity display with 1024 x 576 resolution. Built-in HP Mini Webcam. 2.7 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor Dimensions: 10.3 in (L) x 6.56 in (W) x 0.99 in (H). Memory: 1 GB system Memory. Drive: 60GB 4200RPM PATA Hard Drive Graphics: Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 950 Built In Stereo Speakers. 2 USB Ports 2-in-1 integrated Digital Media Reader Battery: 3 cell Lithium Polymer Battery.
Do keep in mind that this is not a very powerful netbook. The 10″ screen size is a good touch. However, this is a generation behind the latest netbooks. If you’re looking for a netbook that’s also a fashion statement, then this is hard to beat.
We’ve already reviewed the Vivienne Tam edition netbook so let’s see if it’s worth (or not worth) it despite the current price slashes.
Why you should buy a HP Mini 10″ Vivienne Tam Edition?
- It is definitely fashionable. It is the world’s first designer netbook, with the bright peony blooms on the vivid pink chassis. They symbolize good fortune and prosperity, and make this netbook glamorous and stylish.
- Your husband/boyfriend/father/son will not likely be caught within five feet of this baby, so you don’t need to worry about any man messing with it.
Why you should think about buying a HP Mini 10″ Vivienne Tam Edition before actually getting it:
- When you compare it with other HP netbooks (let’s not even go to the Asus Eee PCs and Acer Ones), the 1140NR doesn’t really have an edge except for the design. A simple black HP Mini 1035NR 10″ has virtually the same specs and only costs $399.99.
- It has a matching mouse, scarf, and bag, all sold separately, of course, which will sing your name until you’re ordering them, too, and paying more than the amount you saved for getting this netbook on a discounted price.

Basically, you’ll be paying for the art which is the whole point of the Vivienne Tam Edition. If you have the extra cash and have your heart set on becoming a major techie fashionista, then this will definitely turn heads towards your direction. If that is the case, the time to get yourself one of these is now.
