Toshiba Unveils JournE Touch Tablet
Toshiba is unveiled a 7″ multimedia tablet called the JournE Touch Tablet. There’s a touchscreen display and an ARM-based processor with 802.11b/g WiFi capability.
It also supports a wide range of video formats including WMV, DivX, and H.264, and also has a custom user interface for multimedia services like YouTube, Flickr and Facebook. Windows CE 6.0 Pro runs Internet Explorer.
The little thing is just that: little. It’s 14mm thick and weighs less than a pound. There’s only 1GB of built-in storage, expandable through an SD slot, and external storage via USB. It’s actually nice, very nice. And for a reasonable €250 ($356) price tag, this could just be the answer to touchscreen netbook prayers… Until Apple finally releases their version that is.
Taking a second look, the app icons look a liiiiiittle too much like the iPhone apps icon.
