Toshiba NB205 – Available with Windows 7
The The Toshiba NB205 netbook is available beginning today, October 22, which is also when Windows 7 is being released.
The Toshiba NB205 is pretty high up on Amazon’s Bestselling Netbooks list, with two spaces in the top 10 list, and as of today, it’s available pre-installed with Windows 7 and a price tag of $380-$400. (The black Toshiba NB205 is available for $380, and the other colors (pink, brown, blue and white) are all available for $400.)
The Toshiba NB205 has been touted as a very stylish netbook. It has a mixed bag of features: a large keyboard which unfortunately feels flimsy to the touch, and a large touchpad (about 3in x 2in) which is one of the most appreciated touchpads in the netbook kingdom. Back on the pros side, it is easily upgradeable with slots on the bottom that are easy to remove and screw back in. It also has a 9 hour battery life – about 7.5 hours with heavy usage – which has helped it’s popularity.
Apart from design, larger touchpad and above average battery life, the Toshiba NB205 has standard specs: 1.66GHz Intel N280 processor (which is more powerful than the N270), 1GB RAM and 160GB HDD (less than other Windows 7 netbooks in the same price range). Read our full review on the NB205.
