Toshiba NB205 Available with Subsidy from AT&T, Verizon, Sprint

Toshiba NB205-3gVerizon, AT&T and Sprint have all added the Toshiba NB205 to their lists of netbooks available for subsidy. While the telecoms don’t have it listed on their respective sites, Best Buy has a flyer advertising the netbook as available at a discounted price if you sign up for a 2-year contract with the three companies.

Best Buy is offering the unsubsidized version for $499.99, and with subsidy, $299.99. It looks like a pretty good deal, but as with all deals, you better think twice before you grab at it. Sure you get to knock of $200 upfront but you have to pay $40 to $60 a month for the next 24 months because you’re going to be signing up for a 3G contract along with your new netbook. If you’re really planning on getting a service plan, then this might be a good idea. But if you just want to get the netbook, you’re definitely better off shopping elsewhere.

The black Toshiba Mini NB205 is available sans subsidy from Amazon for $329.99. It is also available with Windows 7, although the one being offered by Verizon, AT&T and Sprint still have Windows XP.

Other colors are available from Amazon, albeit pricier than the black unit: Sable Brown and Frost White for $378.00; Posh Pink for $379.95; and Royal Blue for $383.95.
