Top 10 Netbook Manufacturers – Which Companies sell the most netbooks?
A couple of days ago, we came up with a top 10 list for today’s best selling netbooks. In that same article we pointed out that big players in the computer industry have started jumping on the bandwagon. So – which companies are actually doing well? Who among these recent entrants, each with their own line of netbooks, are grabbing marketshare and selling faster than the rest?
Today, we’ve taken another look at the top online stores to see which company names are popping up more frequently.
Ok, let’s see what we’ve found out…
Apparently, people just can’t get enough of Asuses and Acers. Go straight to Amazon, NewEgg, and Buy.com after reading this article and you’ll see what we mean. While you’re at it, you may also head out to BestBuy.com where the picture’s slightly different. As of this writing, we’re seeing an HP holding the top spot on that site, followed by an MSI, then back to our omnipresent Asus and Acer. Still, that should give us an idea what companies should hold the top 2 spots.
Now, in all these sites, we’ve spotted Samsungs, MSIs and HPs rubbing elbows with the topnotch netbooks. So basically, these three should also be shoo-ins for the succeeding three slots. That would leave us with 5 more. It was actually tougher to decide which would hold slots 6 to 10. Nevertheless, here’s how we think all 10 should be ranked. Feel free to tell us what you think.
1. Acer – The new king of the hill
2. Asus – Dethroned king but might get back on top with their gaming netbook (available at Amazon) and steadily climbing 1000he model.
3. HP – They’re not the top PC vendor in the US and in the world for nothing.
4. Samsung – Don’t be surprised if you see this company hitting #1 in any of our lists pretty soon.
5. MSI – with a model clocking 25 hours of continuous use? Come back soon and we’ll tell you more about it.
6. Dell – Former top gun in the PC industry in the US that was recently unseated by HP.
7. Lenovo – Times are a changin’. People aren’t used to seeing IBM far from the top… but they don’t go by that name anymore either.
8. Sylvania – Yes, it does sound more like a sweet snack than a netbook company. That’s probably why a lot of people want a piece of it.
9. Sony – We didn’t think they belonged to this list too. But that’s before we checked out BestBuy.
10. Intel? Toshiba? LG? Why don’t YOU tell us?
So there you have it. Our top 10 netbook companies. We’ll be coming up with updated lists every now and then so please do come back.
