This week in Netbooks – July 18-24

Several of the netbooks we’ve written about over the past few months have been making appearances at online stores, for a lot less than we all expected. Here’s a bunch that came out recently, in case you haven’t sneaked a peek at our list of Netbook Release Dates.

The much awaited twist-into-tablet Asus T91 came out, but to everyone’s dismay – it was the model without the goodies. Available for a hefty $500.

The pebble Samsung GO N310 is available as well, in a rainbow of colors and a lovely 9 hour battery life, and costs $450. Get it in Midnight Blue, or pre-order it in  Sunset Orange, Mint Blue or Jet Black.

And last but not lease, the Business HP Mini 5101 which received a solid 7/7 rating from us, is now available through HP.com for $400.

Meanwhile, on the Amazon Best Seller List for Netbooks, Asus leads the pack with the sleek 1005HA ($380), followed by Acer’s Aspire One D150 which is by far the oldest and clearly most proven netbook in the list ($330). Samsung is doing pretty well with three netbooks in the list – the NC10 ($365), N110 ($400) and N120 ($400). You can read our reviews of all three here. Toshiba’s NB205 ($350) launched to great hype and is doing pretty well too.

Almost all the netbooks on the list have batteries lasting longer than 6 hours – most have batteries that claim to last over 9 hours. This seems to be a pretty good indication of where the market is headed – long lasting batteries that cost between $350 to $400. Good looks seem to be a priortiy as well – every netbook on this list got glowing reviews in the looks department!
