The Battle of the HP Minis: Mini 110 vs Mini 210 HD
Liliputing was able to get information on the new HP Mini 110. Not really new as HP has phased out their Mini 110 and came up with the HP Mini 210 which is more portable, being smaller and thinner, and more “advanced” as it sported an updated processor. Spec-wise, the two netbooks are pretty similar. They both have 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processors, 1GB RAM, GMA 3150 graphics.
The HP Mini is being sold as an entry level netbook so it’s also cheaper, starting at $279.99 to the HP Mini 210 HD which starts at $329.99. This is because the HP Mini 110 is thicker, has a lower resolution and less options to customize.
The new HP Mini 110 can be placed right smack in between the old HPMni 110 and the Mini 210 when it comes to the size. Thicker than the 210, thinner than the older 110. It also has a solid colored, glossy lid, and a matte display, while the 210 has it the other way around, matte lid and glossy display.
The difference is that you can only get an HD screen and a 7200RPM hard drive on the HP Mini 210 HD, as well as a Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator. Also, while the HP Mini 210 HD can be picked up with Windows XP, Windows 7 Starter and Windows 7 Home Premium, the 110 is only available with Windows XP and 7 Starter.
Both 3- and 6- cell batteries for the HP Mini 110 are the same size and sits flush at the base of the netbook, while the 6-cell battery for the Mini 210 is bigger and juts out from the back of the netbook.
