Sprint subsidized Novatel MiFi Modem
In the spirit of freedom (and July 4th), here’s a great 3G deal from Sprint. The Novatel Mifi 2200 Wifi Modem is available for a mere cent (yes, 1 cent. $0.01) with a Sprint contract. That’s a saving of $300 folks!

Why buy the Novatel MiFi Modem?
- Share Wifi with 5 devices – as long as they’re Wifi enabled, they can connect to the nettwork. Allows you to share your WiFi with up to four other computers! Also ideal if you have Wifi-enabled mobile phones (iPhone anyone?), printers and gaming devices. (WARNING: with five computers sharing the Wifi, you’re prone to going over your monthly bandwidth)
- Connects to your device via the cloud!! – you don’t need to plug it in, you don’t even need to take it out of your bag! Just switch it on and access the net. Talk about convenient!
- Portable – the two ounce MiFi is the size of eight credit cards (that’s 0.125 pounds!)
- 3G Network
- GPS functionality
The four hour battery life is a big drawback – four hours with ONE device. Luckily, you can plug it in. Might be worth looking into a back up battery for longer WiFi sessions (especially if you’re in a coffee shop or airport and can’t plug the modem in).
To get the modem at the subsidized rate, you need to sign up for a new two year account with Sprint. More details here. Note: it’s cheaper (free) to buy it off Amazon.

Coincidentally, the ssame Novatel Mifi Modem is available for 1 cent from Verizon Wireless, if that’s your provider of choice.
