Rumor: Sony Vaio P for $300 from Verizon?
RUMOR! Just Still a rumor. But Phone Arena is saying that you might be able to get the pricey 8″ Sony Vaio P (which is currently down, yes, DOWN, to $799.99 at Amazon) for only $300… with a 2-year contract with Verizon.
The unit will come with a 1600×768 screen, Windows 7 Home Premium, 160GB hard drive, and 2GB of RAM. The one up on Amazon only has 60GB HD and Windows Vista. There is also talk of a $100 rebate.
Again, this is still a rumor, but not counting Apple’s mythical tablet, usually where there’s smoke, there’s flame. Rule of thumb when getting yourself into a 2-year commitment with a telco. Think about it long and hard, and see where you can get the most out of a product. If you’re planning to get the service anyway, then go ahead. But if you want to get the netbook, you might want to consider forgoing the 2-year contract.
But still, a Sony Vaio P for $300? That makes me want to get myself a plan. Read our thoughts on the Sony Vaio P.
