We’ve heard of USB powered monitors, but this is the first time that I’ve heard of one that is touchscreen. The 10″ iMo Mini-Monster Touch is a resistive touchscreen LCD monitor which is powered by a 2.0 USB port. It works with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, and comes with drivers for Mac OS X 10.4.11 and above. Its responsive both to your finger or to a stylus.

If you’re in Japan, and want an HD display for your netbook or notebook but think it’s too much of a hassle to take off your screen just to upgrade to HD, you can get a 7th Century 10.1″, USB-powered 1366 x 768 pixel display. It plugs into your machine (netbook, notebook or desktop) for an instant high definition display. It sells for about $226 in Japan, and is actually a brilliant idea. It also has a low power consumption, 2.5 – 4.2W.

One drawback though is that it doesn’t support Windows 7 Starter so if you have a netbook, most of which comes with the Starter edition OS, you might have to upgrade. Microsoft doesn’t allow dual-display support in Starter. There might not be support for Linux either.

If you’re willing to loosen your purse strings for some truly funky netbook skins then Skinzi.com should be your one-stop-shop solution. Decal skin

Decal skin is one of the few websites that has skins for specific netbooks. They might not have designer illustrators designing their stuff but Decal is a good bet if you’re looking for a safe, dependable and not too out-there an option. Especially nice is their collection of Dell Mini skins that includes the likes of a mean, funky monkey ninja emerging from a banana. Just don’t try decoding the illustration and you should be fine.

Are you the sort of person that believes in tough love? Do you find yourself dumping your netbook into your back pack? Are you endearingly referred to as butterfingers? I thought the design for the Asus Eee PC 1008P-KR was a little weird from the start but I’m starting to appreciate its unique looks. You can get accessories for it such as the Neoprene Zip Skin or the Exotic Zebra Black and White Sleeve Case from Amazon, but Asus came up with official matching sleeve and wired mouse for the netbook. The sleeve has the same finish as the textured lid.

The accessories are going to officially launch in the UK over the weekend, while they’re available at Provantage for $33.

The Asus EEE PC 1008P-KR, like the matching accessories, is available in Coffee Brown and Hot Pink.
