The MSI Wind U230 Light is an 11.6″ netbook which runs on a 1.6GHz AMD Athlon Neo MV-40 processor. Without an Intel Atom, it probably has poor battery life but we’ll have to see how it performs. Also, I’m going to have to check if this netbook is the first eleven-incher from MSI. Looks like it is, if I’m not mistaken, but I’ll get back to you.

MSI and Dodgers have teamed up to create the limited edition Dodgers U135DX netbook and AE2220 AIO desktop for both MSI and Dodger fans. It should be available starting today but there’s no word on how much.

The U135DX Dodgers edition comes with an Intel Atom N455 processor, a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 display, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 250GB HDD and a 6-cell battery.

The AE2220 All-in-One comes with a 22″ multitouch display, 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 processor, NVIDIA ION graphics, 4GB DDR2 RAM, 640GB HDD and Windows 7 Home Premium. It also has a DVD burner, and two 5W speakers.

The regular MSI U135DX is currently out-of-stock from MSI Mobile but is currently available from Amazon.

Netbook companies would usually update or upgrade something inside an old model then slap it with a new name which makes it hard for anyone to even keep the names in line from the top of your head. Another updated/upgraded netbook with a new name is the MSI Wind U135DX which is actually a Wind U135 with a DX… I mean with a new Intel Atom N455 processor instead of the older Atom N450. What’s the difference between the N455 and the N450? DDR3 support. The N455 has it.

The MSI Wind U250 has been officially announced in Taiwan. It’s known to be powered by AMD’s Nile ultrathin notebook platform. It pretty much looks like older 12″ Wind notebooks but there’s a pattern on the chassis and palm rest.

Not to be outdone at Computex, MSI also unveiled two new tablet models, the MSI Wind Pad 100 and Wind Pad 110, both of which have 10″ touchscreen displays, but a world of difference once we go beneath the surface.

Wind Pad 100 Windows 7 Tablet
The Wind Pad 100 comes with a 1.6Ghz Intel Atom Z530 processor and runs on Windows 7 Ultimate. It also has 2 USB ports, webcam, HDMI output and 10.1″, 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive touchscreen display.

It should hit the streets later this year for $499.

Wind Pad 110 Android Tablet
The Wind Pad 110 also comes with a 10″ capacitive touchscreen display, but it runs on Android 2.1 and has a NVIDIA Tegra 2 chipset. The back panel is also replaceable if you want a more stylish design.

I guess with the iPad selling like hotcakes (2 million units in just two months), everybody is scrambling to put up their own tablet computers. We’ll just to sit back and wait as to how the public welcomes them since Apple is currently dominating the market.

That’s not a lot of details yet, but we’ll know more when it becomes officially official.

Computex will happen on June 1st to the 5th at the Taipei World Trade Center. You’ll also get a look at the MSI X-Slim series as well as the MSI Wind U135.

The release said that the U135 will have a chicklet keyboard. Since both netbooks have virtually the same information written for them, except for the keyboard, does that mean the U140 does not have a chicklet keyboard?

Sorry. Sometimes, you really have to spell it out.

TestFreaks has posted one of the first full reviews of the MSI Wind U230 which is MSI’s newest in their line of thin and light laptops.

So far, here’s what they’ve noticed:

• The dual core CPU is perfect for everyday computing tasks.
• The ATI HD 3200 graphics is okay with basic gaming ang HD video playback.
• The laptop comes with Windows 7 Home Premium which boots up in a minute and a half, which, I think, is kinda sluggish.
• It has a nice keyboard with keys which MSI is calling EDS (Ergonomic De-stress), meaning the keyboard is wider and allows for natural finger and wrist movement while typing.
• Battery life lasted for about 4 hours (just as advertised) which is a lot less than odinary netbooks can now give you, but a lot more than what you’d expect from a laptop with a dual core processor.

Okay, so what I think is cool is that Netbooks Spain was able to load a a beta version of one of my favorite games, Starcraft II on an MSI Wind U100. The game is playable if you adjust the graphics to 800 x 600.

This is also the beta version of the game so the final StarCraft II may (or may not) run better on netbooks. I’m thinking (hoping) better because of the Nvidia ION graphic card.
