Asus adds the high-end, ultraportable Asus B23E laptop to their business line. The notebook has a 12.5-inch 1366 x 768 pixel LED backlit anti-glare display and weighs 3.4 pounds. The notebook will be available with an Intel Core i3, Core i5 or Core i7 and will run Windows 7 Home, Professional or Ultimate. It will also come with up to 8GB or DDR3 RAM and up to 750GB of hard drvive space.

Of course it will have 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, and gigabit Ethernet, and the usual array of ports such as USB 3.0, USB 2.0, card slots, VGA, HDMI and audio jacks.

As the v is aimed for the business market, it also comes with business-friendly security features such as a fingerprint reader, LoJack, BIOS password protection, and HDD password protection.

The ASUS B23E-XH71 model is up at Amazon. It costs $997.94 and comes with an 2.7 GHz Intel Core i7-2620M, 4 GB DIMM, 500 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive and Windows 7 Home Premium.

Asus will launch a line of netbooks with Cedar Trail chips next month starting with the Asus Eee PC 1025C which will come with the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N2600 processor for $299 or the Eee PC 1025CE which will come with 1.86GHz Intel Atom N2800 CPU for $319.

Both models will feature:

• 10.1-inch, 1024 x 600 pixel displays
• 1GB of RAM
• 32GB hard drives
• 6-cell batteries

The cheaper Eee PC 1025C will have a slightly better 10 hour battery life. The Eee PC 1025CE which has a faster processor will also use more power. But despite that, it can still run about nine and a half hours on a single charge.

Both netbooks will already feature Asus’ new “flare” design.

Asus will also be launching the Eee PC 1225B notebook in February. We’ve already met the notebook last month.

At $399, you get a device with the following specs:

• 1.6 GHz AMD E-450 dual core processor
• AMD Radeon HD 6320 graphics
• 2GB of DDR3 RAM (up to 4GB)
• 320GB hard drive
• WiFi, Bluetooth, Ethernet
• 6 cell battery (up to 6 hours of battery life)

That’s actually not shabby. It will also have 2 USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port and an SDHC card reader as well as VGA and HDMI ports, and will also be available in black, white and red.

It’s being marketed as a media notebook with support for 1080p HD video playback.

Asus is giving their Eee PC X101 a refreshing change by slipping in a a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N2600 dual core processor into the netbook’s next release.

The old version of the Asus Eee PC X101 comes with a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N455, 1 GB DIMM, 8GB hard drive and MeeGo operating system.

The new one, the Eee PC X101CH is a 10-inch machine with 1GB of RAM and 320GB hard drive. It will also have 2 USB 2.0 ports and a 3-cell battery that will run for 4 hours. Before you write that off, you have to know that it will ship for only $269. It’s also going to be small and light at 2.3 pounds.

Release date is in February.

Asus is re-designing their netbook line from the “seashell”-inspired design to the “flare” which will still feature the island-style keyboard with the flat keys. But unlike the old seashell, this will have a slightly raised palm rest area.

This design has already been used in the Asus Eee PC X101 MeeGo netbook but will also be used in the upcoming versions of the 10″ Asus Eee PC 1025 and and the 12″ Asus Eee PC 1225. The two new netbooks will also have full-sized keyboards, with the 1225B running AMD Fusion and the 1225C coming with Cedar Trail.

With the older seashell design in the Eee PC series, the netbooks are wider and curved in the back than in front. The new netbooks will most likely appear at the Cosumer Electronics Show happening next week.

The Asus Eee PC 1225B notebook showed up on the Asus site this weekend. While the name suggests a relationship with the 12.1″, 1.6 GHz AMD E-350 dual core processor-ran Asus Eee PC 1215B, this new notebook has slightly different specs:

The Asus Zenbook Ultraportable laptops are finally available for purchase. While Intel calls them ultrabooks, Asus decided to call them Zenbooks to set them apart from other ultraportable laptops. The Asus Zenbooks have thin and light cases, solid state drives as well as over-a-$1000 price tags.

Newegg has the Asus UX21E-DH71 Zenbook which comes with an 11.6″, 1366 x 768 pixel display, 1.8GHz Intel Core i7-2677M processor and 128GB SSD. It costs $1199.99.

The cheaper Asus UX31E-DH52 Zenbook comes with a bigger 13.3″ 1600 x 900 pixel display screen, 128GB SSD and a lower 1.7 GHz Intel Core i5-2557M processor.

There’s no sign of the lower end UX21 model which is the cheapest of the lot at $999 or the higher end mdels but they should be available soon. I’ll also keep an eye out on Amazon for you.
