Review: Acer AOD250 (Windows 7)

We’ve written about the Acer Aspire One AOD250′s rise as a netbook. It was always a top seller, and the Windows 7 version is a bigger hit and is now the number 3 netbook on Amazon’s best seller list.

The AOD250 comes in many configurations with different specs. Depending on your choice of specs and budget, this can be a solid netbook. The keyboard is smaller than most and the touchpad has a single button which can be quite annoying. Apart from that, when it comes to price and utility it’s a netbook that’s worth checking out. The AOD250 (Windows 7) is available ranging from $330 to $365

[Rating:6/7]

AOD250 Features

  • affordable – at $345 for the best specs (N280 processor, 250GB, Windows 7) you can’t really go wrong
  • easily upgradeable – when it comes to RAM and the like

Drawbacks

  • small 89% sized keyboard – not many have complained about this, but it is smaller than the Asus 1005ha‘s 92% keyboard and the Toshiba Mini NB205 full chiclet keyboard.
  • single touchpad button - takes getting used to, can get in the way if you’re typing a log document and have accidentally clicked on the wrong side of the button
  • 6 cell battery jutts out – but this is common in most netbooks

AOD250 Rating – 6/7
