PineView Samsung N150 – Early look at Specs

Samsung came out with the  N130 and N140 for the Windows 7 launch party, and word is they have a Pine View netbook (or two) lined up. A blogger friend of mine is ecstatic about these, and believes Samsung will become netbook manufacturer #3 in 2010. Seems a little pre-mature a prediction, even though Samsung does come out with some pretty cool netbooks.

Here’s a look at the specs the Samsung N150 should be packing in, courtesy Wireless Goodness. Windows 7 Starter, N450 pine view processor… apart from these two and the Qualcomm Gobi 3G & GPS sensor, nothing seems to stand out about this netbook. I hope Samsung is holding back on some specs & info that they’ll let out when they officially announce & launch this netbook.

I’m also surprised that the Samsung N150 has a battery life of only 7 hours. The Pine View chip is supposed to be super-power-efficient. Lately, half the posts we read are dissing the processor’s performance, and the other half are pointing out that it doesn’t provide the extra battery life we expected it to.

Back to the N150 – the price that got leaked is $375. Unfortunately no photos were leaked, so we’ll just have to wait and see (pun) how the netbook turns out.
