New faces in Amazon’s Best Selling List
Black Friday sales and pre-Christmas sales are really messing with the Amazon Best Selling netbook list! All these discounts on Windows XP netbooks, tsk tsk. Below are the netbooks people are buying. The Dell Mini runs Windows 7 Starter. Also interesting that Samsung has two new faces in the list.

Samsung NC10 – $285
The NC10 was common on the Amazon Best Selling list a couple of months ago, nice to see its making a comeback. This 10″ netbook comes with very standard specs = 1 GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows XP and a 6 cell battery. A great package for $285; despite the OS.
Dell Mini 1011 – $297
The Dell Mini comes with the same specs as above, but with Windows 7 Starter. Coming from Dell, it’s a sturdy good looking netbook. VERY BASIC considering the other options Dell offers (designer lids, broadband, tv tuner etc. etc.). Comes with a good battery that lasts 8 hours.
Samsung N130 – $280 (!!!)
The Samsung N130 only came out a few months ago – this one with Windows XP. The drastic price cut (from $350) shows that Samsung really should have released these netbooks with Windows 7. Same specs again, but with the shortest battery life at just under 6 hours. The only thing that stands out about this netbook – the chassis. Looks like one of the old MacBooks.
Phew, with prices this low because of Windows 7 & holiday season, makes you wonder how cheap these Windows XP-Intel-Atom netbooks are going to be once Pine View comes out next month. Can’t decide if I’m happy about it or not. On the one hand us end consumers benefit. But on the other – the price cuts might crucify the market. 2010 will be an interesting year all right.
