Netbooks Around the World: Foxconn iWonder, Malata A802
Foxconn iWonder, Taiwan
It has Google Android 1.6, a 10.1″, 800 x 600 pixel touchscreen display, a Marvell processor, no 3G but you do get WiFi, and a $100 price tag.
Sure it’s no iPad, and you’re probably going to very distracted and disappointed about how it looks as, based on videos, it has a god-awful screen, but then again, what do you expect to get from $100?
Malata A802, China
The Malata A802 is a Sony Vaio P-knockoff with a roomier keyboard and a little less pricey than the original, but what the company has added is a touchscreen display. But just like the Sony Vaio P, however, you can’t twist the screen to hold the netbook in tablet mode.
- 1.6Ghz Atom N270 processor
- Integrated GMA 950 Graphics
- 8.9″, 1024X600 resistive touchscreen
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB hard drive
- 1.3-megapixel webcam, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
- Windows 7 Home
While we probably won’t see it anywhere outside of China, it is currently selling for $600.
