In the weeks to come (netbook trends)

Some trends we’ve observed in the last few weeks, and what’s slated to come.
Latest netbook trends
- All the new netbooks are running on Intel’s new processor the 1.66GHz N450
- Netbook prices are dropping drastically – the latest specs are now selling for under $400 (e.g. Asus 1005HA with N450, 250GB, 1 GB RAM, Windows 7 Starter, 14+ hours battery for $370)
- N270 and N280 netbooks are seeing an even more drastic price drop and will soon phase out
Things to expect
- Netbooks with the Intel N470 processor will come out over the next few weeks
- Netbooks will start appearing with USB 3.0
- Netbooks bearing ION 2 will make an appearance
- Tablets and other non-netbooks will make more of a dent in the industry
- Google Chrome OS will make an appearance end of the year
- Asus will come out with an e-Reader mid-year
