Netbook Release Dates (2010)

List of netbooks that have released in 2010, and that are slated to release this year. This list will be regularly updated with price information, links to full reviews and links to buy these netbooks.

May 2010

  • Asus Eee PC 1001PX – The budget version of the Asus 1001P, this netbook comes with basic specs – N450 processor, 3 cell battery, 160GB HDD and Windows 7 Starter at only $279
  • Dell Latitude 2110 – a sturdy rugged 10″ netbook for business and education sectors, comes with a new N470 processor, hi res 1366×768 display and ability to play HD 1080p videos. Windows version starts at $420. Read the Dell Latitude 2110 review
  • Asus Eee Keyboard – overpriced at $600 especially because it comes with specs that impressed us back in 2009 and not anymore. N270 processor? Really? Full specs of Asus Eee Keyboard
  • Viliv S10 Blade – $700 10″ netbook convertible with Intel Z530, GMA 500 graphics and Windows 7 Premium. $1000 gets you better specs. Read more

June 2010

  • Asus Eee PC 1201PN – 12″ netbook, hi res display 1366×768, N450 processor and….. nVidia ION! Will be priced around $600, currently available only in Germany. Read more about the Asus 1201PN
  • New colorful Sony Vaio P – everyone’s favorite (and somewhat) overpriced designer 8″ netbook now comes with better processors (choose from the Intel Z line), an accelerometer, built in 3G and fancy fun colors. And it’s $200 cheaper than the older Vaio P at $800! Should be available State side June 8 onwards.  Full specs of Sony Vaio P

Upcoming netbooks with no launch dates.

  • Asus Eee PC 1015P – PineView processor, Windows 7, matte display, aluminum chassis, chiclet keyboard
  • Asus-Modu netbook with slot for cell phone that can act as a modem
  • Acer Aspire One 521 – 1.2GHz AMD V105 processor, ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics, HDMI output
  • Acer Aspire One 721 – 11.6″, hi-res 1366×768 display, dual core AMD Athlon Neo K325 prcoessor, ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics, optional 3G
  • Acer Aspire One 1551 – 11.6″, hi-red, AMD Turion II dual core processor, ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics
  • MSI Wind U140 – Very few details are available about this apart from its N450 processor and Wi-Max capabilities.
  • HP’s Compaq Airlife 100 – Google Android device running on 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon and 512 MB RAM (and 16GB SSD)
  • Lenovo S-10 3 (available for pre-order) – the typical 10″ netbook with Windows 7 Starter, N450 processor, 6 cell battery.. yawn…  $350. Read Lenovo S-10 3 review
  • Ideapad U1 Hybrid – Quite the innovation, an 11.6″ netbook with a detachable screen that becomes a tablet! Howzaa! U1 Hybrid Specs

April 2010

  • Asus Eee PC Seashell 1005PR – $400 for an 11 hour battery life netbook with hi res display (1366×768), N450, Windows 7 Starter and a sleek designed netbook with a chiclet keyboard. A little much, but you’ll get what you pay for with this.
  • Asus T10MT – much awaited 10″ netbook that converts into a tablet, good buy at $490 despite low specs (N450, Windows 7 Starter, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD)

March 2010

  • Budget Sony Vaio M – N450 processor, 250GB HDD, Windows 7 Starter, read more

Feb 2010

  • Samsung N150 - $290 will get you a great package – a colorful Samsung N150 with an N450 processor, 1GB RAM, non-glare display (!!), low 160GB RAM but good GMA 3150 graphics. Did we mention the netbook’s available under-$300??
  • Toshiba NB300 series – This netbook is available for as low as $300 because it comes with Windows XP, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD and okay, also a N450 processor so you’re not totally primitive. With an 11 hour battery life, it’s good if you want a cheap good looking basic netbook.

Jan 2010

  • Asus 1008P-KR – Designer netbook from ASUS at $500, comes with N450 processor, 2GB RAM, and chiclet keyboard.
  • Asus 1001PE – 14 hours of battery life, N450 processor, 250GB HDD, Windows 7 all for a sortof steep $360.
  • Samsung NB30 – N450, Windows 7 Starter, 7 hours battery life… it claims to be spill resistant.. $330
