MSI Wind U110 Eco Now Available in the US

MSI Wind U110 Eco

MSI has finally launched the 10″ MSI Wind U110 Eco (aka MSI Wind U115 without the dual storage). If you recall, Microsoft has banned the U115 because of its hybrid storage and has bullied asked MSI to pre-load the netbook with Windows Vista instead, at an extra price. Because of that, there’s no SSD in the U110.

Here are the technical specs of the U110 Eco:

  • 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 Processor
  • System Memory 1G (on Board) DDR2-533, 1 Open SO-Dimm slot Memory Upgrade Max 2 GB
  • 160Gb SATA Hard Drive
  • Windows XP Home
  • 10″ WSVGA 1024×600 VGA Display
  • Intel GMA500 Graphics
  • 1.3 / 2.0MP Webcam / 4-in-1 card reader, 802.11b/g
  • 10.23 inches, 7.08 inches, 1.2 inches
  • 3.2 pounds
  • The netbook listed on Amazon has a 9 Cell battery (7800mAh), and will probably have the best battery life among all MSI netbooks. Also, it’s in silver, one of the few models that come in that classy color.

The U110 Eco is now in stock and shipping in the US for $399.99.

Check out our thoughts on the U115. It was such a promising netbook. Hopefully, MSI will be able to deliver that promise with this one.
