Look out for Toshiba NB300 in 2010!

The Toshiba NB205 was quite a success in the blogosphere at the box office in 2009 the year of the Rise of the Netbook. We wrote about it compared her ruthlessly to other to models. We reviewed her performances during her early years on Windows XP the small screen, and wrote about her climb to success on Windows 7 the cinematic screens. We even stood by her side despite her dual-relationships with AT& and Sprint the Devils themselves.

All jokes aside – the Toshiba NB205 is a solid netbook. So it fills us with delight to hear that Toshiba is coming out with a new model – the NB300 – sometime in 2010. Wireless Goddess broke the story of the NB300 making it’s way through the FCC.

What we know about the NB300 – it’ll come with a Qualcomm’s Gobi2000 chipset, making it perfect for mobile broadband as it will work on a diverse range of networks. It’ll also have a 10″ form factor like the NB205. Surprising since most netbook manufacturers are going down the 12″ route. But kinda nice too, because it stays in the realms of netbooks and differentiates itself from CULVs.

What we don’t know but can hope – it’ll come out with Intel’e new range of Pine View processors. Why else would Toshiba wait until Jan 2010 to come out with a new netbook! ;)

We’ll track all updates of the NB300 here, so come back and check in after CES (Jan 7 – Jan 10).
