Leak: Acer PineView netbook on its way
This isn’t too surprising or hard to believe since Intel’s PineView processors are supposed to take over the netbook market and Intel wants to put the Diamondville (N270/N280) series to sleep. But hearing about an Acer PineView netbook this early in the game is kind of exciting! :)
The Acer Aspire One 532 is a 10″ netbook that will come itht he Intel PineView N450 processor. The display resolution stands out at 1280 x 720 pixels, and the processor is paired with an Intel GMA 3150 graphics chipset (not great, but better than the 945GSE we’re seeing on most netbooks). Makes you wonder if the AO532 will support HD playback, though no word on whether it has an HDMI port or not.
Other details: 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, Windows 7 Starter, Wi-Fi and a price! – $440. That doesn’t seem steep at all considering, the AO532 is bearing a new generation of Intel processors and a souped-up graphics chipset. We’ll probably hear more about this post-CES (mid-January).
