HP Mini 100e Education Edition

HP has a new member for its Mini line, the HP Mini 100e Education Edition which is aimed specifically for students between kindergarten and 6th grade.

Let’s see. What do we expect from netbooks aimed for kids that age? Something tough and rugged, maybe spill-resistant and scratch-proof with something to protect the HDD from a free fall pretty much like what we see in the Samsung NB30. Read our review here. Maybe parental controls and some cool educational apps.

Let’s see what the HP Mini 100e has. Plastic chassis with steel pins. Sturdy. Check. A spill-resistant keyboard. Check. It will also come with Microsoft Office 2010 Starter and Microsoft Math.

The netbook will have a carrying handle, an integrated modem, and a LED light at the back of the lid which will work when there’s network activity. It also has a 92% keyboard. The back panel is also customizable as well as the lid and keyboard so customers can choose their designs or patterns.
