Hate glossy netbook cases? Make it matte.

Asus Eee PC 1005HA Matte

I love the shiny look of a glossy-lidded netbook, but only to look at. Touching is different. When you touch a shiny, happy ASUS Eee PC Seashell 1005PE, it’s like CSI-heaven. I pretty much appreciate the cleaner look of a non-glossy netbook.

An enterprising user at eeeuser.com forum (Sharkeexe) has found a way to “mattify” his Eee PC 1005HA by using a matt film which is used to cover cars, furniture and such. It only costs a few bucks but covering your netbook would need a good eye and steady hands. Covering the screen also requires that you take the screen apart and even remove the keyboard. Simple for a techie, a little too complicated for someone like me. But it sure looks cleaner.
