Guide to Available Asus netbooks
Here’s a list of Asus Eee PC netbooks available to help you with your Christmas shopping. (Note: a select list of the better deals) I’ve sorted them by Windows XP and Windows 7. Incidentally, the Windows 7 line is priced pretty much the same as the XP line – so definitely get one of them unless you have a loyal affinity for the older operating system.
I’ve also listed out all the specs – helps explain the price differences. In some cases, the extra $10 for the longer battery life is pretty worth it. After all, you’ll be using the netbook for about a year or so.

Asus Windows 7 Netbooks
1201N – a 12.1″ netbook with hi-def resolution 1366×768, and nVidia ION. It’s the most affordable ION netbook, and is currently available for pre-order until January 15. Read more.
- 1201N – 1.6 GHz Dual Core N330, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, Windows 7 Home Premium, 5 hour model for $500
1008HA -lighter than the 1005HA, this netbook comes with a slick seashell design. The 1008HA is underrated because previous models cam with non-removable batteries. Kinda steeply priced though.
- 1008HA – 1.66GHz N280, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 6 hour model for $410
1005HA – the current best seller, the 1005HA seashell’s gorgeous case holds a powerhouse inside. You can choose from a variety of specs. (scroll down for the listing of Windows XP 1005HA netbooks).
- 1005HA – 1.6 GHz N270, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 8.5 hour model for $310
- 1005HA – 1.6 GHz N270, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 10.5 hour model for $330
- 1005HA – 1.66GHz N280, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, 10.5 hour model for $340
T91MT – Asus’ 8.9″ touch-screen, net-vertible – the screen rotates and can be made into a tablet. Comes with Windows Home 7 Premium which improves the touch-screen experience. Read our review.
- T91MT – 1.33GHz Z520, 1 GB RAM, 32GB + 500GB EE Storage, 5 hour model for $530
Asus Windows XP Netbooks
1201HA – a 12.1″ netbook with a huge screen and hi-def supporting resolution. It isn’t a power house – or media house – but is good and cheap if you want a large-screen netbook.
- 1201HA – 1.33GHz Z520, 1 GB, 160GB HDD, 1366×768 resolution, 6 hour model for $330
1005HA – the current best seller, the 1005HA seashell’s gorgeous case holds a powerhouse inside. The $290 one is a great buy if you want the cheapest netbook ever – specs are still good and 4 hour battery life is doable.
- 1005HA – 1.6GHz N270, 1GB, 160GB HDD, 4 hour model for $290
- 1005HA – 1.6GHz N270, 1GB, 160GB HDD, 8.5 hour model for $306 [the Windows 7 version is available at same price]
- 1005HA – 1.66GHz N280, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD. 10.5 hour model for $330.
- 1005HA – 1.66GHz N280, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD. 10.5 hour model for $340 [the Windows 7 version is available at same price]
1008HA – lighter than the 1005HA, this netbook comes with a slick seashell design. The only reason it didn’t make it big is the non-removable battery which lasts for only around 5-6 hours. Read our review.
- 1008HA -1.66GHz N280, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD for $350.
1002HA – a gorgeous chassis for a more business look with its aluminized brush, the 1002HA is very similar to the rest of Asus’ 10″ netbooks.
- 1002HA - 1.6GHz atom, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 5 hour model for $426
1000HE – the 1000HE was on Amazon’s best-selling list for a really long time, before it got replaced by the 1005HA. This netbook is a sturdy powerhouse. Take a look at it’s chassis before making the buy (the main reason the 1005HA is successful because of the seashell chassis). I think the price is so high because it’s a ‘collectors item’ or something… $390 is STEEP for an older model.
- 1000HE – 1.66GHz N280, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 9.5 hour battery for $390.
900HA – Asus’ 9″ netbooks were pretty popular when netbooks were new. People like them for the small form factor and extreme portability – this model weighs only 2.2lbs. There aren’t many of these around since 10″ and 12″ models are saturating the market, but here’s a decent model I found. You can get a 1005HA for the price, but hey, this is for any of you looking specifically for a 9″ netbook.
- 900HA – 8.9″ netbook with 1.6GHz N270, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 5 hour battery model for $305
T91 -
- T91 – 8.9″ twist and turn and touch screen – 1.33GHz Z520, 1 GB, 16GB SSD + 20GB EE Storage, 5 hour model for $471
Disney Netpal – an 8.9″ netbook with standard specs and a lot of customizable Disney features including desktop wallpapers, widgets, programs and games. It also has a spill-proof keyboard and ShockShield data protection making it very kid-friendly. A great buy for a young ‘un. Read more.
- Disney Netpal – 1.6 GHz N270, 1GB RAM, 250GB HDD, for $345
