VIDEO: Starcraft II Beta on MSI Wind U100

This is so cool. You know that you can’t play games on a netbook, right? And that the only gaming netbook that would let you get at least decent gaming experience is the Alienware M11x. Sure, you can play a few games but not as well as when you’re using a more powerful laptop with a better processor and graphic card.

Okay, so what I think is cool is that Netbooks Spain was able to load a a beta version of one of my favorite games, Starcraft II on an MSI Wind U100. The game is playable if you adjust the graphics to 800 x 600.

This is also the beta version of the game so the final StarCraft II may (or may not) run better on netbooks. I’m thinking (hoping) better because of the Nvidia ION graphic card.

There are a lot of available upgrades for the 5102 including a GPS, an HD matte display, multi-touch display, Broadcom Crystal HD Video Accelerator, 320GB HDD, Bluetooth, 6-cell battery etc. It, of course, would cost you a lot of added $$$.

Asus Eee PC 1005PR with HD Display Gets Product Page

The Asus Eee PC 1005PR was first spotted at CeBIT last week, and it now has it’s own product page at Asus.com. It’s not the first HD Eee PC, but I think it is in the US. As far as pricing goes, there’s no word on that yet, but release date is set on April. It comes in black, white, blue and pink, and it does have a Broadcom Crystal HD card.

VIDEO: First iPad Commercial Debuts at the Oscars

The first commercial for Apple’s iPad made its debut at the Oscars last night, and what I noticed is that it’s a huge iPod Touch that is perfect for reading books and newspapers.

Typing and working on? Not so much. You’re going to have to sit with your knees bent, or your legs lifted to be able to use the iPad as a conventional computer/netbook/laptop. You won’t be able to just put it flat on your lap, or even on a tabletop. I’m thinking that’s going to make typing awkward.

But still, it looks great. That, coming from a girl who loves her iPod Touch.

Samsung Go (or the Samsung N310) has been one of my favorite netbooks because of its sturdy and unique rubberized chassis, and good performance. Now, Samsung has added the Go to their line-up of Pinetrail netbooks, and came up with the Samsung N315.
