I was window-shopping from Amazon again when this popped out, the product page for the Acer Aspire S3. It’s original price is $899.99 but you can now get the ultrabook for $799.99. Save $100.

For that price you get a machine with the following specs:

MSI Announces Wind U180

MSI officially announced their MSI Wind U180, the company’s first Cedar Trail netbook.

Physically, the netbook pretty much looks like every netbook MSI has released since 2008 except that the original MSI Wind U100, which is one of the first netbooks to be released with the then new Intel Atom N270 processor, is thicker and heavier. The specs are a different matter anyhow, with the improvements all happening inside.

The technical specs look like this:

Tablets Around the World: Fujitsu Stylistic M350/CA2

Fujitsu is launching the Fujitsu Stylistic M350/CA2 aimed for enterprise customers. Yes, it’s actually called that.

So far, what we know is that it has a 7-inch WSVGA 1024 x 600 pixel display, a 6-hour battery life and 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and HDMI outut. It also has an on-screeen QWERTY keyboard and can support numeric keypad input and handwriting input as well as recognize Kanji characters. Operating system is most likely an older version of Google Android, probably 2.3 Gingerbread or earlier.

If you’re in Japan, it will be available for purchase in mid-February. No details on pricing yet.

BlackBerry PlayBook Goes on Sale Again Until February 11th

What is up with Research in Motion? They’re desperately trying to sell the BlackBerry PlayBook. Remember when they sold all models 16GB, 32GB and 64GB for a flat price of $299? Well, you can once more pick up a PlayBook for a discounted price. The 16GB model is now only $199.00. The 32GB model is $249 and the 64GB model stays at $299. At least until February 11.

The tablet has a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display and a 1 GHz TI OMAP 4 dual core processor with a BlackBerry Tablet OS. RIM is releasing a version 2.0 of the operating system this month too. It will add support for Android applications as well as native contact apps, email and calendar. It still won’t have access to the Amazon app store though.

The BlackBerry Playbook is also available from Amazon for $226.97 for a 16GB model. The 32GB model is $261.99 and the 64GB model is currently $326.66.

Sprint to offer ZTE Optik tablet for $100 Plus 2-year Contract

The ZTE Optik tablet, a 7-inch Google Android 3.2 device will be available from Sprint for $99.99 if you add a 2-year data plan which starts at $19.99 pero month for 1GB of data.

It’s a really basic tablet, like one you’d expect for the price tag. Specs include:

1.2 GHz Qulacomm MSM8660 dual core processor

1GB of RAM

16GB of storage

2MP camera and a rear 5MP camera with auto-focus

802.11b/g WIFI, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS

While you can’t expect mind-blowing performance, you’d have basic functions such as Internet and access to the Android Market and a cadre of Google apps on your fingertips.

The tablet will cost you $349.99 contract-free. In which case you might want to check out the Blackberry Playbook which is also a 7-inch tablet or a 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab which is a bit more expensive but much more reliable.

HP Consumer Netbooks Get Cedar Trail Processors too

HP upgraded their business netbooks with the new Intel Atom N2600 Cedar Trail processors, and are gearing up to release updated consumer netbooks as well. Geant, a French retailer, has listed the new HP Mini 110 and Mini 210 netbooks with Cedar Trail processors.

The new HP Mini 110 has the following specs:

10.1 inch display

1.6 GHz Intel Atom N2600 dual core processor

1 GB of RAM

320GB hard drive

802.11n WiFi

The HP Mini 210 has the same specs but with a 1.83 GHz Intel Atom N2800 processor.

So far, pricing for the netbooks are 279 Euros for the Mini 110 and 309 Euros for the Mini 210. No pricing info or if and when they will get to US shores as of now.

Pre-Order Samsung Galaxy Note from AT&T

AT&T has announced that they will be taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Note today, February 5. Have you checked out their pre-order page? I haven’t been able to as of yet. If you sign up for pre-order, your device would be delivered on the 17th. Those of us who hadn’t pre-ordered can troop to the stores and get ours on the 19th.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is one of those machines that blurs the line between tablet and smartphone. It comes with the following familiar tablet specs:

1280 x 800 pixel Super AMOLED display

1.4 GHz dual core processor

1GB of RAM

2MP front-facing camera | 8MP rear camera

Google Android 2.3 Gingerbread

The US version also comes with $G LTE radio, and you can connect to the Internet as well as as use the device as a phone. You can also use a stylus for writing or drawing on the screen.

For $299.99, you can get the Samsung Galaxy Note with a 2-year contract with AT&T. It’s a little expensive for a phone, but reasonably priced for an Android tablet.
