Cheap Android Tablets Available from KMart, $150
Tablets are making appearances left, right and center. iPads are selling like… pretty much anything Apple sells, and we’re looking forward to getting our hands on a Dell Streak 5. But if you just want to experience a tablet and not shell out $500 for one, you can head on over to KMart where, I’ve heard, they’re selling out inexpensive 7″ Augen GenTouch Tablet.
Here are the specs as per Augen US:
- 800×480 color TFT touch panel screen
- CPU: 800 Mhz
- Ram: DDR2 256mb
- Internal Memory: 2GB
- Expansion Slots: SD/MMC card slot up to 16GB
- Wi-Fi Connectivity with Full Web Browsing Capability
- Rechargeable Lithium Battery
- Carrying case included
You can surf the web, read ebooks (supports Text, PDF, E-PUB, HTML), view multimedia files, listen to music and watch videos. Pretty much everything other tablets can do. For $150, it’s not such a bad deal. But then, you have to consider that $150 may not cover the cost of support or software updates. Also, the site says that it has support for the Android Market. Here’s hoping that it does.
