AT&T To Offer US-wide Netbook Subsidy

Looks like AT&T is going to be selling netbooks in its US retail locations soon. Their cheap-netbook-with-a-2-year plan service started in their Philadelphia and Atlanta stores earlier this year, but apparently they are expanding to include the rest of the country.
The netbook deal gives you three choices: an Acer Aspire One, a Lenovo IdeaPad S10 (which you can get in black for $339.00 or white for $363.99 in white from Amazon without the service) or a Dell Inspiron Mini 10 (which is now only $382.49 at Amazon). The netbooks will be available from AT&T for $199.99 each with a 2-year contract. While the netbook price-slash may look tempting, the 2-year plan will still cost you big bucks because each plan is at $40/mo for a 200MB plan and $60/mo for the 5GB plan.
AT&T is also offering the AT&T ConnecTech(R) which is support specific for netbook customers, providing three support options for AT&T-purchased netbooks. Prices range from $99 for remote online support to $199 for in-home tech support.
Before you waltz to the nearest AT&T store, you might want to check out Verizon who is also offering subsidized netbooks (HP, this time) for $199 or Sprint’s $0.99 netbook (a Compaq 1040DX).
