Acer Review, Asus Review – Netbook 10

The Asus T101MT is finally here! The product page is live on Asus.com, and yes ladies and gentlemen, we finally have a netbook we can be proud of this 2010! What’s so special about it? Well, the T101MT  is the first 10″ touchscreen netbook coming from Asus, also the first netbok to come with an SDXC card slot.

What’s SDXC?? Well, SD cards had a max capacity of 4gigs, SDHD cards have a max of 32gigs and the SDXC has a max capacity of – wait for it – 2TB!! I know what you’re thinking – who would ever need so much storage, no less on a netbook? And how much on earth would it cost?? But one thing that will be way handy is the increase in bus speeds! The SDXC goes  from 103MB per second to 300MB per second – I don’t even know what to imagine this would do to the performance of the netbook!

In fact, don’t just take what I’m saying at face value, here’s a quote from the Asus Product Page.

Card Reader: MMC/SD supported SDHC capacity up to 32GB SDXC, in High Speed (HS) and Default Speed (DS) modes, and max. capacity up to 2TB

Apart from the innovations in storage – drastic increase in storage, and drastic decrease in “hard drive” crashes…. the Asus T101MT is a much awaited netbook. It’s the big brother of the T91MT – a multi-touchscreen convertible tablet and comes with the latest specs. It’s specs are so impressive, I feel like changing the next headline to ASUS T101MT FEATURES!

As can be expected, there’s no word on pricing or availability. Any guesses on how much the top tiered version of the Asus T101MT netbook — N450-Windows 7 Home Premium – 2GB – 320GB HDD/SDXC — would cost??
