Asus Eee PC 1008P Karim Rashid Edition Reviewed, Worth Its Price
The Asus Eee PC 1008P Karim Rashid edition, at $489.99, is the priciest Asus Eee PC netbook to date, even more expensive (slightly) than the Asus Eee PC T91MT convertible tablet which sells for $481.54 (prices are from Amazon.com).
Peter from Netbooked published a detailed review of the 1008P Karim Rashid edition and it seems like the netbook is worth its almost $500 price tag. Major points go to it’s super thin and lighter than most netbooks. It has a classy designer lid. It packs 2GB of RAM and 320GB HDD space. It has an Intel N450 Atom Processor and runs Windows 7 Home Premium. It’s four-hour battery is replaceable, unlike the ones in the original 1008 seashell netbooks.
Reading Peter’s review, he noted that the netbook gets a little warm, and you only get 2 instead of 3 USB ports, and you can’t upgrade the HDD. But based on the number of pros against the cons, Peter sounded pretty impressed.
