Acer Review, Asus Review – Netbook 10

Asus decided to put a higher resolution 1366 x 768 pixel display on an Asus Eee PC 1005PE, and so we have the Asus Eee PC 1005PR. Ta-dah!

This is not the first Eee PC netbook with an HD display because Asus released the 1005HR in Japan last year, but hopefully, the Eee PC 1005PR will see the light of day somewhere outside of Japan.

Other than the HD display, the netbook looks like the 1005PE with identical specs.

• 10.1” screen
• 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor
• GMA 3150 graphics
• 1GB of RAM
• 250GB hard drive
• 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR
• 6-cell battery (48Whr, 9 hours or 63Whr, 11 hours)

It will also most likely come with a Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator because of the mention of TotalMedia Theater software. It would also probably come with a version of Windows 7 but there’s an Express Gate OS which boots up the netbook in 8 seconds.
