Asus Eee PC 1000HE Review
The Asus Eee PC 1000HE is the first ever netbook to use the Intel Atom N280 processor which allows it to consume 1/10 of the power that ordinary desktop processors consume. Meaning, it can give you as long as 9.5 hours of unplugged use.
It has a 10-inch LED-backlit screen with a large chiclet keyboard that many users have found very comfortable to use, regardless of the size of the user’s hand. Memory-wise, the 1GB DDR that comes with the unit is upgradable to 2GB, and the storage is a generous 160GB HDD as well as a 10GB Eee online storage that’s great for sharing data on the move. Data-sharing is also very easy since the 1000HE also comes with a built-in 802.11b/g/n WiFi and Bluetooth for no fuss wireless connectivity.
So far, feedback on the 1000HE has been really good. Battery life lasts almost as long as advertised, and praises has been sung for the keyboard’s ease of use. It also comes pre-loaded with Windows Xp, with a 1.3 megapixel-webcam, built-in speakers, an MMC and SD flash card slot, and 3 USB ports which is pretty much all you’d need in a netbook.
