Asus 1005HR unboxed – not overly astounding
Once you achieve netbook-battery-zen, what do you focus on while building a 10″ netbook. Why, screen resolution ofcourse! That’s what Asus did with the soon-to-be-released-everywhere 1005HR netbook – they squeeze a 1366 x 768 resolution on a 10.1″ netbook.
Check out this video of the unboxing of the 1005HR from Netbooked.net
Frankly, I can’t see what the hype is all about – everything just looks more crisp. I was far more impressed by how beautiful the brand new Eee PC looks. But if you’re into HD videos & basic-netbook-gaming, I’m sure the 1005HR is just what you’ve been waiting for. (The guys at Netbooked personally found the resolution too high for such a small screen.)
Apparently, the 1005HR has been out since October in Japan and comes with the same specs as the Asus 1005HA (N280 Intel Atom processor, 250GB RAM, 6 cell battery, Windows 7 Starter) plus the high res of course :). No word on US availability.
