Asus 10” Eee PC Netbooks – EeePC 1000, Asus Eee PC S101, Asus 1002HA

We’ll finish our roundup of Asus netbooks with 10 inch Eee PCs. These include the Asus S101 – which is the latest and most exciting Eee PC in Asus’ arsenal. On to the netbooks -
Asus S101
- The Asus S101 is one good looking netbook. It comes in 3 great colours – Brown, Graphite, and Champagne.
- Its really slim and light at just 1kg.

- At $675, the S101 is more of a high end netbook.
- You can get it with XP (16 GB SSD) or Linux (32 or 64 GB SSD).
- It has an Intel Atom N270 processor and 1 GB ram.
- It has a 10.2 inch slim screen.
- It has a 4 cell polymer battery that gives it 5hrs+ battery life.
- It comes with 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity.
- It also has a 4-in-1 memory card reader that supports MMC, SD, Memory Stick and MS-Pro formats.
- There is also the S101H which has a 160GB hard disk instead of a SSD.
Its one of the best looking netbooks around, with great looks and portability. The high price is a bit of a deterrent.
Asus EeePC 1000 Line
- This line includes the Asus 1000, Asus 1000H, EeePC 1000HA, EeePC 1000HD, and the Asus Eee 1002HA.
- The large screen size and large keyboard are big pluses. All of them except the 1000HD (Intel® Celeron M 353) come with Intel Atom processors (the N270).
- The 1002HA comes in Argent Gray, includes a 160 GB HDD and has a battery life of 5 hrs. Its rather striking and available for $484.

- The Asus 1000 EeePC is priced at $385 at Amazon, and includes a 40 GB SSD and a 6 hr battery life.
- The Asus 1000HA is similarly priced and includes a 160 GB HDD. It has a longer 7 hr battery life.
- The 1000 and 1000HD come in Fine Ebony and Pearl White, the 1002HA is only available in Argent Gray, and the 1000HA and 1000H are available in Sakura, Sweet Pea, Pearl White, and Fine Ebony.
- And we also have the 1000HD which has a Celeron processor, a hard disk with 160 GB capacity and varying memories (1 GB with Xp; 2 GB with Linux – except in India and China) and battery lives (4.5 on Linux, longer on XP).
- The Asus 1000H is available for $499. Its very similar to the 1000, except for a wider variety of available colours and it has a HDD instead of a solid state drive.
Asus N10-E, N10-J Line – this is not part of the EeePC line and will be discussed separately. Asus does have a wide and (once again) very confusing line-up of 10” netbooks. I’d recommend buying 10” Asus netbooks at Amazon as they carry a good range and have good prices.
