Archos Netbooks – Archos 10, Archos 10s, and 9″ MiniPC Tablet

Archos is the maker of a range of very well done multimedia devices and a company I have a lot of respect for. The Netbooks it has announced are -
Archos 10 10″ Netbook
- The Archos 10 is not surprisingly a 10″ Netbook.
- Weighs 2.8 pounds.
- Starts at $399.
- Intel tom N270 Processor, 160GB hard drive, Windows XP Home, 1.3 mega pixel webcam, and 802.11 b/g WiFi.
- Available Feb 2009.
- The standard option is a 3 cell battery, with a 6 cell battery priced at $449.
- There is also a bunch of software included -
- Lotus® Symphony™ (office suite)
- XnView (picture edition)
- Bitdefender Antivirus 2009** (antivirus)
- Parental Filter** (advanced parental control)

Archos 10s 10″ Netbook
- Archos 10s will be launched in April 2009.
- It’ll be just 20 mm thick.
- It’ll have integrated 3.5G functionality in addition to WiFi capability.
- Intel Atom Processor, Windows XP Home, 1 GB RAM, and 60 GB to 160 GB hard drive options.
Archos 9″ MiniPC Tablet
- Weighs 0.8 kg.
- Measures 17 mm thick.
- Intel Atom Processor Z5xx series.
- Hard Drive options of 60 GB to 160 GB.
- It has a virtual touch-screen keyboard and handwriting recognition.
- Mouse is replaced by a trackpoint mouse.
Archos also announced that it is working on future MiniPC netbooks that will use Intel’s forthcoming Moorestown platform and be available in 2010.
