Acer AOD250 – Windows 7 Starter – 6cell battery – $340-360

The best range of Windows 7 running Acer AOD250 netbooks. This model comes with the 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 processor and a huge 250GB of hard drive storage which is more than enough for your multimedia needs. The six cell battery makes the overall netbook a little hefty at 2.8lbs. This netbook is comparable to the Asus 1005HA which has a 10hour battery life but a smaller 160GB hard drive and costs a little more at $380.

The medium range, I’m surprised it exists. While you’ll save $10-$20, you’re compromising with a slightly slower 1.6GHz N270 processor. I recommend you pay up and go for the N280 – it’ll totally be worth the extra bucks in the long run.

Acer AOD250 – Windows 7 Starter – 3 cell battery – $300

This netbook makes sense if portability isn’t an issue. If you’re leaving it at home plugged in, the $300 price tag is awesome! ($300 for a Windows 7 netbook!) It’s even ideal if you make short trips to the local coffee shop since the lighter 3 cell battery (which only survives for 2-3 hours) is a quite lighter making this model weigh only 2.4lbs. This one’s also a good buy for the kids. The purple and coral pink are especially riveting colors.
