Acer Aspire One 751 11.6″ ultra-thin netbook

Apparently, Acer has heard the “the bigger the netbook, the better” call of netbook users as they’ve introduced the 12″ Acer Aspire One 751. 

The Acer 751 has a HD 11.6″ backlit LED screen with WXGA 1366 x 768 resolution. It’s the largest netbook offered by Acer so far (its still less than an inch shorter than the new Samsung NC20).

It’s good to see netbook manufacturers blow the ‘netbooks are just tiny notebooks’ argument out of the water. And now notebook manufacturers have even more to be scared of.

The 751′s size and super-thin profile isn’t the only new surprise – instead of the N270/N280, the Acer Aspire One 751 will run on an Intel Atom Z520 processor with a US15W Express Chipset. Memory is expandable up to 2GB. Acer is also promising up to 8 hours of battery life with a 6-cell battery (4-hours on a 3-cell).

If the 751 can deliver on all these promises it’s going to be one heck of a netbook.

    • It comes in four colors: black diamond, sapphire blue, ruby and mussel white, and a really stylish design. It’s also only an inch thick which makes it ultra-portable.

    • Estimated price in the UK is £349 which is about $518 US. Stay tuned for news on when Acer 751 will hit the US market.
