2010 Netbook Trends (so far)
Posted on December 3rd, 2009 by Nidhi

I herein make my predictions for what netbooks of 2010 will bear. And by netbooks of 2010, I’m insinuating netbooks that will be featured at CES in January of 2010 – because the market undergoes huge changes with every passing month. Who would have thought 12″ netbooks bearing Windows 7 and nVidia ION would be in demand at the end of 2009?
- they’ll come with Windows 7 (duh)
- they’ll come with 6 cell batteries (a huge majority)
- while we’re listing generic specs, 2506GB HDD will be the new ‘generic’ that most netbooks come with
- they’ll start coming with Pineview* processors which puts the graphic unit on the processor itself, thereby saving space and power
- they’ll support Flash-based videos (as a result of Pineview and Flash Player 10.1 which pushes flash reading functions on to the graphic chip)
There’s already word of a few netbooks coming with Pineview:
- Asus 1008P
- Lenovo S-10 Ideapad
- MSI Wind U150
- Fujitsu Lifebook
