2009 – Beginning of a Netbook Era

I already run a couple of tech blogs/sites, and lately have been seeing the rise of the netbook. There’s now talk that there will be 40-50 million netbooks selling by 2012.
Frankly I agree. The netbook is a great example of the march of technological progress. A few years back, getting a small laptop was super expensive. And now, these are the cheapest notebook computers.
I was trying to find a netbook for my sister in the UK, and it was a pain. The only people writing about netbooks were sites doing it as a courtesy – finding place for netbooks between other posts. I really feel that niche is powerful – if you devote yourself to an area and master it and write about it, you can provide a lot of value and gain a lot in return.
The aim for this site is to help people figure out what netbooks are available, and figure out the best netbook for their purposes and then the best place to buy the netbook.
