Acer Review, Asus Review – Netbook 10

You can now get the 12.1″ Asus Eee PC 1201HA from Best Buy for $329.99. It’s pretty much just a slightly bigger version of the Asus Eee PC 1101HA which we’ve reviewed here. If the older model is what we’ll be going by, then we’ll be getting a well-designed netbook with a good 12.1″ WXGA LED widescreen display with 1366 x 768 resolution, and comfy keyboard. It also means that we can expect a sub-standard video experience. The  1101HA is a good netbook, if you don’t mind it being a tad slow.

Technical specs are similar as well:

• 1.33 Intel Atom Z520 processor
• 160GB SATA Hard Drive (5400 RPM)
• 1 GB DDR2 RAM
• 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth
• 12.1″ 1366 x 768 pixel display
• Integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics
• Windows XP Home (SP3)
• 6 cell battery (6 hours and 38 minutes)
• 3 pounds

Pretty much identical aside from the size of the screen. Even OS is the same. I wonder why Asus didn’t put Windows 7 on this one.

Anyhow, if you don’t mind a smaller netbook, you can get the still get the Asus Eee PC 1101HA from Amazon. It’s available for $429.99 $396.91.
