Toshiba Folio 100 Gets Previewed

Toshiba Folio 100

Toshiba also unveiled their 10″ Android tablet, the Toshiba Folio 100. Expected to launch in the fourth quarter of 2010 for €399 or $510 US.

It has a 10.1″ 1024 x 600 pixel cpacitive touchscreen display and a NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. The Folio 100 will ship 16GB of internal storage, 1.3MP camera with WiFi and Bluetooth. A 3G model is also in the works and will be released early 2011. The Folio 100 will come with Google Android 2.2 but as per Engadget, it doesn’t have an official Android Market. They also seem to be disappointed with how it turned out. They said that it looked like it was cheaply made with sub-standard parts.

Apparently, Toshiba’s US team is saying that the Folio 100 might never see the light of day in the US anyway.

VIDEO: HP Mini 5103 Unboxing

The HP Mini 5103 is the latest business netbook to be released by HP. It also has a hard drive sensor that locks the hard drive whenever it senses that the netbook is in freefall and an aluminum and magnesium alloy case that makes it tough. But what really sets is apart from its predecessors (the Mini 5101 and the Mini 5102) is that this comes with the newest 1.5GHz Intel Atom N550 dual core processor. (You can also opt for the older N475 and N455 single core options, if you want to.)

It also comes with a HD touchscreen display, GPS, 3G modem, and a wide range of options for operating system, from FreeDos to Linuzx to Windows 7 Professional.

I like business netbooks because they’re sturdier, and looks classier than their cheaper and lower end counterparts. Plus they do have some nifty talents like spill-proof keyboards and the like.

Samsung Announces the NF Series with Atom N550

Samsung NF series

The Samsung NF series is the latest netbook line from Samsung. The three new models are NF310, NF210 and NF110.

The Samsung NF310 is the only one sure to have the new Intel Atom N550 processor. It also comes with DDR3 memory, and a high res 1366 x 768 pixel display.

There’s virtually no specs listed for the NF210 and 110 but the latter is said to be “affordable” and would most likely be Samsung’s budget netbook for this line. The NF210 is said to come with an 8850mAh 6-cell battery which packs power that can let the netbook run for as long as 14 hours.

Samsung will also bundle the Easy File Share software with these netbooks which allows file transfer between PCs using WiFi, and the Samsung AllShare system which lets you play multimedia files and display photos on Samsung devices including phones and digital cameras.

Due date for the new series is October in Europe, and the rest of the world soon after.
